LTdL To Make Comeback In Langkawi Next Year
18/02/2010, BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- After a two-year hiatus, the high profile Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) is expected to make a comeback in Langkawi next year.

LTdL chief executive officer Mohamed Salleh said Langkawi would be ready to be part of the circuit next year.

"Langkawi could not revive the circuit this year due to teething problems," he told reporters here Thursday.

He was commenting on former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's remarks that he was deeply saddened as Langkawi was not featured in LTdL over the past few years.

Dr Mahathir said the resort island should feature LTdL as the objective of having the race was to promote Langkawi to the world as Le Tour de Langkawi in French meant 'Touring Langkawi'.

Langkawi was last featured in LTdL in 2007 while the LTdL 2010 from March 1 to 7 will start in Kota Baharu and end in Kuala Lumpur.
