THE traditional finish,
the Kuala Lumpur Criterium, sees the peloton pushing through
12 laps of 6.7 kilometres each over the startline at the
Merdeka Square.
Predictions for this final
stage will come easy as there has never been a breakaway
victory in history, but this is the final chance for the
sprinters to have a go at changing their classification,
coming in the form of three intermediate sprints over
the startline every three laps prior to the finish. But
nevertheless, the leaders' teams will have a say and keep
the race under tight control.
Starting at the Merdeka
Square, the stage moves the peloton against the backdrop
of Kuala Lumpur's breathtaking skyline through Jalan Tun
Perak, Jalan Raja Chulan and through the courtyards of
the Twin Towers of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).
